I took the pieces to my guides, angels, and higher self and asked them to please mend it for me.
As they looked through the pieces they began speaking quietly to one another as if what I was asking of them was impossible. Just as I feared the worst, my higher self, Theia spoke to me and said, โwhy do you ask this of us?โ
I looked between these higher light beings and the fragments of my heart and said, โlook for yourself. Canโt you see? Itโs broken!โ
Archangel Raphael then spoke, โMy child, this does not need healing.โ
I then looked to Archangel Raziel and he said, with a shake of his head, โMy dear one, it cannot be alchemized.โ
Archangel Michael was the only one left so I pleaded my case. โMichael, please. You have always comforted me in my sadness and fear. Will you please help me mend this?โ
With his bountiful loving energy he said, โMy dearest child, we cannot fix your heart because there is nothing wrong with it.โ
I stared at him feeling such betrayal then gestured to the pieces laid out before us. Tears sliding down my cheek as if guiding my attention back down to gaze upon the wreckage of my heart.
Looking at the shards I let out a barely audible whisper, โBut itโs been destroyed.โ
Archangel Michael then approached me. Lifting my chin to bring my gaze back to his he spoke, โIt is exactly how it should be. For this,โ he then released my chin and waved his hand towards the shards, โis not your heart, my beloved. It is the barrier you have had up around it, closing it off from the world. Your heart,โ he said as he placed the same hand over my chest, โis just fine. It is finally exposed, finally open, finally accessible to you and the world. What a gift your soul friend gave you.โ
I felt astounded at this news and asked, โBut, Michael, if my heart is fine, why does it ache so much?โ
โWell that, my beloved,โ he began โis because you are learning how to use it.โ
โHow do I do that? How do I use it?โ I asked reverently.
โBy learning to forgive.โ
โBut how can I?โ I replied anxiously. โHow do I forgive a wrong done against me? How do I forgive another humanโs weakness? How do I forgive someone for cracking my heart open only to abandon it after promising they never would?โ
More tears streamed down my cheeks as the reminder of the pain rocked through my chest like an avalanche of failures, wrong words, and regrets.
Wiping away my tears Archangel Michael then said, โBy rendering their soul contract complete.โ
I was so surprised by this answer that I jerked my head away from his hand.
He let out a gentle chuckle at my response.
โYou see, you souls all make these agreements to generate growth and expansion. Think of the debts like the money debts I your physical realm. One soul has a debt they owe you, so they pay it. What happens though is the humans do not close and settle the accounts. They keep them open. Reminding the one of their debt - in these cases it was an event for massive growth and transformation that was perceived as a negative event - over and over again trying to get them to keep paying for something they already paid for. This continues the cycle of suffering.
This is why once the debt has been paid - the transformative event has happened - the contract must be filed as paid. This is what one would say is forgiveness. It is the acknowledgment that the debt has been paid and the contract fulfilled.โ
โSo youโre saying,โ I began, with the hopes that I understood his analogy, โis that sometimes people have a karmic debt with us that we collectively choose to settle through them performing an event in our life that would aid in our growth and expansion?โ
He nodded, urging me to go on.
โAnd sometimes that even could be hurtful or painful?โ
โYes,โ Michael explained. โIt is usually the most painful that allow for the most expansion as humanity still ascribes to the belief that they deserve to suffer.โ
โI see.โ I paused for a moment as he watched me get my thoughts together before adding, โSo I am to settle my contract with this person and set them free?โ
โYes, my darling,โ he said. โSet them free. Like when a debt in your realm has been paid the account is then closed. Yes, there is a record of it. It will always be there, but there is nothing more to collect. This is true forgiveness. Setting it to rest and moving forward with your experience of expansion.โ
I nodded in recognition of this information then asked, โMichael, will by heart ever stop aching?โ
Placing both hands on the sides of my face he spoke gently, โBeloved, your heart only aches when you donโt allow yourself complete access to it.โ
I furrowed my brow and asked, โHow am I not allowing full access?โ
And he said, โBecause you have yet to forgive yourself.โ
